Appendix C: Recommended setting for bulk insert
The following permissions need to be set up for Bulk Insert to work properly:
If Windows Authentication is used for the login to connect to SQL output database, the user must have permission to access to the Bulk Insert folder.
If a SQL login is used, the service that runs SQL Server must have permission to access the “Bulk Insert” folder.
The login must also have “bulkadmin” selected as part of its server roles (see the picture below):
