Exolution User Guide
=====================================
Introduction
This document explains how to set up a new user account, create a new casebook and start using Exolution. It is intended for the users of the Exolution standalone version.
Install and use Exolution end user application
The Exolution end-user application is a loader which pulls the Exolution Viewer from the server and runs in the end user computer. Litexn provides an executable file Exolution Login.exe that has to be copied to the end user computer in order to access Exolution. It is a small file that can be placed on the desktop or any other place. The application can be run by double-clicking the exe file.
Your computer may have a security restriction that prevents you from copying an exe, please contact your IT security department if you are unable to copy or run the Exolution login application.
The following window appears when the application is successfully executed. You need login information to get into Exolution. Please contact your application management team to get the login information if you don’t already have it.
URL is a connection string that connects the end user application to the Exolution server. For example, http://bigmercury:9588/ or 192.168.1.155:9588. Usually, but not necessarily, the URL ends with “:80” or “:9588”.
Provide values to the fields and click on the Connect button. If you get an error like below then try to browse the URL in a web browser. If you cannot browse the URL then Exolution is not accessible from your computer. Contact your IT to make it accessible.
The web browser should display a page like below when you try to browse the URL. If it shows an error or you see something different then contact your application administrator.
Exolution asks the user to provide a new password when a user login to Exolution the first time. Provide a new password and continue.
The following window displays after the successful login and password change for the new user. The casebook menu is displayed only if you are an administrator of Exolution. The administrators can grant or revoke any user’s permissions on any casebook using the Casebook menu.
If the casebook list is empty then ask your application administrator to grant you permissions on the casebooks.
Select a casebook and click the Open Casebook button to open it. Mouse double-click on a casebook also works. This will display Exolution viewer described later in this document in the Exolution Viewer section.
Please refer to the user manual to get instructions on how to review and redact the documents.
