Searching For Documents
Search is accessible from the main Review screen. Clicking into the search box will display the Document Text search window. You can type or paste searches into this window. The window size can be increased by dragging on the lower-right corner of the window.
Note
The example in the illustration above, apple w/5 pie, is using Standard query syntax as selected in User Settings - General. Standard query syntax in Reveal Review is based on dtSearch. This example syntax would be incorrect under Elastic query syntax which is based on Lucene. See Boolean Connectors, Wildcards, Proximity and Fuzzy Searches for further details on these query syntax choices.
You can choose which Document Text sets to query by clicking on Text settings.
To apply additional search criteria such as Tags or Fields, click the Refine Search button at the right of the search box.
In Refine Search, you can apply any search criterion, view and create Saved Searches, and view and apply Search History.
To begin with, you may search in All Documents, or specified folders (including Family Documents, Duplicates, Near Duplicates and Email Threads at your discretion).
You may search on any Tag.
You may search for contents in any Field.
You may search Text, specifying Document Text or Metadata.
As noted above, you may specify Folder.
There are More criteria available, including Calculated to determine the presence or absence of a condition such as Has Redactions.
All of the above may be specified and linked with a choice of Boolean AND, OR and NOT connectors, as well as "New group AND", "New group OR" and "New group NOT" connectors to take the place of logical grouping parentheses.
